 A Note from Miss Amy

The month of January began with us enjoying amazing weather!! While we started talking about snow in our classroom, we enjoyed weather outdoors that seemed more like spring!! We spent some time outdoors on a record-breaking day in South Dakota and we loved it!! We took lots of pictures so that when our weather becomes much more typical for this time of year, we can look back and remember how nice it was to play outdoors in 60 degree weather in January!! J

Looking ahead to February, we are excited to invite our mothers to join us for a Mother’s Tea so we can share many of the things we do here at preschool and let our moms know how much we love them!! We will also let our friends know how much we care about them as we share Valentines during our Valentine’s Day party!! We also can’t wait to learn more about reading and writing books as we explore what it means to be an author during the second half of February. We have created our own classroom books together, but now we will get to be authors of our own stories…how exciting!!

A Note from Miss Kami

The preschoolers in Miss Kami's class were so excited to see the first snow falling! We read stories about snow, made snowflakes and snowmen and talked about our favorite things to do in the snow.

We are getting excited for our Mothers' Tea on February 10th. This will be a special day to spend time at school with our moms. We will sing some songs, have a snack and make a craft together. We are also looking forward to our Valentine's Day party. It is so much fun to pass out Valentines to our friends.

One of our favorite times of our preschool day, is the time we spend in chapel. It is a special time to hear Bible stories, sing

A Note from Miss Heather

Let’s sing…

(Tune: “Let it snow”)

Oh, the weather outside is sunny,

but wouldn't it be funny.

If the snowflakes said “Hello”!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!”

This was a song we sang a lot throughout the month of January as we waited for the snow to come. We talked about snow and the things that we get to do when it snows, but it was hard to just imagine it and not be able to do it. We did throw paper snowballs in the gym. We also made adorable snowmen! In addition to talking about snow, we talked about animals we would find in the arctic regions. We heard a story about polar bears and made penguins with our feet! At the end of the month, our parents had the opportunity to visit with our teachers at Parent Teacher conferences. In February, we will be talking about love and books. We will be having a Mother's Tea where we invite our moms to class. We will also be having a Valentine's Day party.
