Lenten Ingathering: Safe Families for Children
Blessed Redeemer is working alongside Bethany Christian Services and this Lent we will supplying bags for their
program, “Safe Families for Children”. Each week we will have a designated item which will help fill backpacks for the children. These children have been taken out of their homes and are placed in temporary homes. Safe Families for Children gives a backpack filled with these items so each child feels they have something of their own when they arrive at their new environment. Children are newborn to teenage. They remain in these environments until their home is safe for their return. We encourage our preschool families, Blessed Redeemer Lutheran Church members and community members to purchase the necessities specified by Bethany Christian Services. These items include a backpack for the child, a blanket, pajamas, socks, brush, toothbrush and toothpaste, stuffed animal, book, and a game. Our goal is to collect 30 bags and supplies. Please join us this Lenten season and share how Christ makes this a season of Hope! Bethany Christian Services also takes gift cards to designated activities in the area, so the families may take these children to do fun activities and make great memories. If you feel so inclined you may do this as well.
